When a long-term visitor discovers the many unique and unexpected, sometimes disconcerting aspects of a new culture, it causes the intense stress called culture shock. It typically goes through several stages.
Research aspects of life that are common to humanity and unique to people groups. The unique aspects include both conscious and unconscious (overt and covert) aspects of culture that differ from one’s own culture.
Research what culture shock is, what its stages are, what the various typical reactions to it are, and why it often leads to depression and other psychosocial reactions.
In 1,000-1,250 words, describe your findings and include the following:
