Description
There are multiple theorists whose research and ideas have greatly impacted the early childhood education field. It is important for the early childhood professional to be able to recognize these theorists and their ideas, in order to apply the theoretical principles to best practice in his or her teaching. This assignment requires identification and description of multiple child development theories.
Research the following five child development theorists:
- Erik Erikson
- Jean Piaget
- Maria Montessori
- Lev Vygotsky
- Urie Bronfenbrenner
In a section dedicated to each theorist, in a paper totaling 3-5 pages, include the following:
- A description of the main elements of his or her theory regarding young children’s development
- A description of at least one specific example in each about how early childhood educators could incorporate and apply that theorist’s ideas to work in an early childhood setting
- On the reference page, include the appropriate APA formatted citations for the resources you used in your research
Use APA formatting with attention to proper spelling, grammar, and mechanics.
